Supermodel Naomi Campbell joined a long list of Hollywood mum's as she welcomed her first child recently. Taking to social media, Naomi made the sweet announcement as she shared her baby daughter's first photo. The 50-year-old model, however, was conscious enough to not reveal her identity. Naomi's announcement definitely surprised her millions of fans and followers. Taking to Instagram, Naomi penned down her feelings.
While making the big announcement, she wrote, "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."
However, it is unclear who the father of the baby is or whether Naomi chose through adoption, surrogacy, IVF treatment or even a natural conception. Take a look at Naomi Campbell's special announcement:
Wishes poured in for the new mum as friends and fans flooded the comments section. Designer Marc Jacobs wrote, "Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around." Avatar actress Zoe Saldana also wished Naomi and commented, "oh my goodness congrats lady! What a blessing!!!"
Earlier, Naomi had hinted opting for modern medicine to start a family. In an interview with UK’s Evening Standard magazine, the model had said, "Now with the way science is, I think I can do it when I want." With the arrival of her little bundle of joy, Naomi has joined the ranks of thousands of mature moms in the US — medically defined as “geriatric mothers” — who are parenting infants at the age of 40 and above, reported New York Post. Eva Mendes, Halle Berry, Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Laura Linney and Madonna are some mother's in the West who have welcomed children well into their 40s and 50s.
