Taylor Swift opened the MTV Video Music Awards 2019 (VMAs) this year with two of her recently released songs. She set the stage on fire with You Need To Calm Down and Lover.
The MTV Video Music Awards 2019 (VMAs) took place this Monday and started off the week on a musical note. From Ariana Grande to Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and BTS, the best pop music videos were nominated this year. While the VMAs is about the best videos, it is also about the best performances. And who best to open the VMAs than Taylor. The international diva was the talk of the town last week for her song, Lover. She released the beautiful and romantic video of the song and won everyone over.
TayTay took to the VMAs stage to perform her romantic song for the first time live. She spread the love at the annual music award as she performed on the song soon after she set the stage on fire with her performance on You Need To Calm Down. Swift was seen sporting a gold bustier and a pair of sparkly blue shorts for her VMA performance. She slipped into a pair of golden boots to complete her look. The singer had a few drag queens for the company as she performed on the Pride Anthem.
It was obvious that Swifties went gaga over the singer's performance. They felt that the performance did not seem like it was for the awards show. It rather looked like it was a Taylor Swift concert happening. However, not everyone was impressed by Taylor's opening act. VMA 2019 viewers took to Twitter to react to the performance. Check out the performance and reactions below:
