Is a Modern Family reboot on the way? Jesse Tyler Ferguson who essayed the role of Mitch Pritchett on the show recently spoke to Daily Pop and shared his thoughts. The actor spoke about that potential Modern Family spinoff that’s been rumoured to be happening. “Nothing is official,” he shared. “I have not been asked to do anything yet, so you know, it’s being talked about, but I haven’t heard anything official.”
If you didn’t know, the spinoff was rumoured to be an offshoot of the original series and would focus on Mitch (Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), as they started a new life back in Mitch’s home state of Missouri. When the series ended last year, fans saw the two sell their brand new house and move across the country as Mitch accepted a new position as head coach of a football team at a university.
For the unversed, the show wrapped up in February 2020. The cast came together to celebrate the final day of filming on Saturday and took to social media to bid goodbye to their sitcom which has garnered a huge fan following in the past so many years. Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Sarah Hyland and other stars of the ABC sitcom took to Instagram to share photos and videos from their last day of filming on set. It was not just a whole lot of emotions and tearing up, but the stars also got super nostalgic reflecting on their 11-year journey. "Adios stage5 ! Modern Family 11 years!!!," wrote Sofia as she shared a drone-shot video of the entire cast saying goodbye. Sarah posed next vanity van name plate 'Haley' and wrote, "11 years. 250 episodes. 1 Modern Family."
