Meghan Markle wanted to see freckles on the cover of guest edited issue of British magazine; Here's Why
As a collaborator, Meghan Markle had specific instructions laid out for famed photographer Peter Lindbergh who revealed that the Duchess wanted the entire photoshoot to be natural.
Meghan Markle made waves in international media on Monday when the Sussex Royal Instagram account announced that the Duchess of Sussex is the Guest Editor for the September issue of British Vogue. The Duchess of Sussex created history as she became the first guest editor for a September issue in the magazine’s 103-year history. The magazine's impactful cover which was released saw 15 women from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities come together for the cover titled 'Forces of Change'. And as a collaborator, Meghan had specific instructions laid out.
Meghan played an important role in choosing each detail of the campaign. From the 15 women to the campaign's photographer, Meghan has closely worked with the magazine's Editor-in-Chief over a period of seven months to curate the issue. According to a report in People, Editor-in-chief Edward Enninful revealed that he and Meghan both chose famed photographer Peter Lindbergh for the cover shoot.
Lindbergh told Vogue that he spoke to Meghan over the phone on the morning of the New York shoot. "My instructions from the Duchess were clear: ‘I want to see freckles!' Well, that was like running through open doors for me. I love freckles," the photographer revealed. Meghan has not shied away from showing off her own freckles which she proudly did during her royal wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
The British Vogue issue also features a candid conversation between Meghan and former First Lady Michelle Obama. As well as an interview between husband Prince Harry and Dr. Jane Goodall. Take a look at it below:
