Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and baby Archie to officially tour Southern Africa 'as a family'

Meghan and Harry along with baby Archie will undertake a tour to Southern Africa, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed the news on Thursday on their @SussexRoyal Instagram account.

Weeks after welcoming their first child into their lives, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will soon embark on their first official royal tour as a family. Meghan and Harry along with baby Archie will undertake a tour to Southern Africa, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed the news on Thursday on their @SussexRoyal Instagram account. The post also said that the royals will be touring this autumn but the date has not been confirmed as yet. 

As per earlier speculative reports, Meghan and Harry may go on the tour in October 2019. The post read, "The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have requested a visit to South Africa as well as The Duke carrying out visits to Malawi and Angola. His Royal Highness will also do a short working visit to Botswana en route to the other countries." 

Carrying on the legacy of Princess Diana’s humanitarian work on the continent that she loved and often spent time in, Prince Harry and Meghan will be visiting the same areas and interacting with people on ground. "The Duke and Duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the Commonwealth and beyond. This will be their first official tour as a family!" the post further read.

These places hold special importance for Meghan and Harry as they have visited them quite a few times and even before they could officially say 'I Do' to each other. In fact, the main diamond in Meghan's engagement ring is also from Botswana, while the two smaller diamonds are from Princess Diana's personal jwellery collection.
