Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's closest friends to be royal baby's godparents? Find out
As per reports, the high-profile and long time friends of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in the running to become godparents to baby Sussex.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are due any day now that is if they have not already welcomed baby Sussex. Fans of the royal family and keen observers are placing bets on multiple possibilities like the gender of the child, name of the child and who would be the royal baby's godparents. And as per reports, the high-profile and long time friends of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in the running to bag the tag of godparents.
According to UK bookies Ladbrokes, the front runners are Harry’s longtime pal Charlie Van Straubenzee (1/8 odds) and Meghan’s close friend Jessica Mulroney (1/3 odds), reported who.com. If Charlie is chosen to be the godparent to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first child it won't come as a surprise to many since they've known each other for over a decade.
Whereas, Meghan's closest girlfriend has been Jessica Mulroney. Her kids were also part of the page boy troupe for Meghan and Harry's royal wedding last year. Jessica's three children played an important role at the wedding and it is most likely that she would be baby Sussex's godmother.
In the case of celebrity names, George and Amal Clooney are frontrunners. Followed by Serena Williams, David Beckham and Elton John who performed at the couple’s wedding reception and Oprah Winfrey, according to the betting website.
The Buckingham place had released a statement last month sharing the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will celebrate the birth of their first born 'privately as a family' and then share the news with the rest of the world.
