Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially splitting from their joint charity with Prince William and Kate Middleton amid claims of a growing rift between the royal couples, international reports stated. In a statement on Thursday, the Palace announced that The Royal Foundation will continue to run without the involvement of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to a report in The Mirror, the joint charity will be renamed later this year as the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge considering that Prince William and Kate Middleton will be a part of it.

“The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex has today announced the conclusions of a review into its structure, and how it will best support Their Royal Highnesses with future charitable activity,” the statement reads. The split was announced on Thursday afternoon, a day after William and Harry met with trustees to finalise the arrangements.

The statement further reads, "Later this year The Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will establish their own new charitable foundation with transitional operating support from The Royal Foundation. In addition both couples will continue to work together on projects in the future, including on The Foundation’s mental health program, Heads Together."

The four were once dubbed the "Fab Four", but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who welcomed baby Archie in May, were reportedly separating from the joint charity to focus on separate charitable endeavours.
