With just a few days left to go for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey to be aired, CBS has been releasing a few teasers this week. The third teaser was dropped on Thursday morning and featured an exchange between Meghan and Oprah. While the first two teasers showed Prince Harry's responses, this one shows Meghan being asked about what the Buckingham Palace thinks about her truth today.
In the brief 30-second teaser, Oprah asks Meghan, "How do you feel about the palace hearing you speak your truth today?" To which, Meghan replied saying that they cannot expect her and Prince Harry to "just be silent".
She said, "I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.” Meghan further added, “If that comes with risk of losing things, there is a lot that has been lost already.”
Meghan's interview teaser comes amid bullying allegations against her by the palace staff. According to a report in The Times, the Duchess of Sussex was referred to as a bully during her time as a working royal in 2018 at Kensington Palace. However, Meghan's team shot back at the allegations saying they were saddened by it. "The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma,” her rep said in a statement.
The Buckingham Palace also took note of the allegations and released a statement saying that the Palace's HR team will be looking into it. "The Royal Household has had a Dignity at Work policy in place for a number of years and does not and will not tolerate bullying or harassment in the workplace,” read a part of the statement via the BBC.
