For The Wedding Planner’s 20th-anniversary stars Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez opened up and spoke about the film, their instant chemistry and their infamous kissing scene from the film.
The Wedding Planner stars Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez recently had a reunion! The stars chatted via an Instagram Live session to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their beloved film. In the chat, the duo spoke about everything from their instant chemistry and rapport to their adorable kissing scene. While Jennifer reminisced that to her “It still feels like just yesterday we were in the middle of that field with the movie theatre.” "Do you remember doing that scene where you were about to kiss me?" She continued: "You said, 'Miss Lopez, I'm going to kiss you now.' And I said, 'OK, let's do it. Let's hit it.'"
For the unversed, Jennifer played the role of a wedding planner Mary Fiore in the film McConaughey played doctor Steve Edison. The actor also couldn't believe that it has been 20 years since the film’s release. "When you say it's been 20 years… I was going over the math. That's a while ago," he said in dismay.
Later on in the chat, Jennifer spoke about the instant connection she had with McConaughey. "I so enjoyed working with you," she continued. "We had such a nice rapport and chemistry. We were somewhat at the beginning of our careers at that time. It was exciting to be working on any movie. I still feel that way. It was a magical time. I'm such a romantic, too, that working on those types of movies have a real feel for me."
To which McConaughey said that he remembered Jennifer’s dedication on set: "You prepare so well for everything you do," McConaughey said. "I love your intentionality, I love how deliberate you are."
