With the D23 Expo currently going on, Marvel fans have been getting some interesting updates about the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 4. The next chapter is set to introduce a slew of new superheroes including the Eternals, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, the first female Thor, Blade and more. However, MCU fans have been eagerly awaiting the news about Marvel Studios' plan for the recently acquired X-Men Universe, Deadpool and Fantastic Four. With the news about Kit Harington's introduction to MCU making headlines, fans speculated the Game of Thrones star will be announced as the next Wolverine.

However, the word in the street is that Marvel might not make any announcement about Wolverine, Deadpool or any of the X-Men characters anytime soon. It has been reported that the Disney-owned studio might wait until at least 2020 to announce anything about X-Men, Fantastic Four or anything about the previously Fox-owned characters.

Variety reporter Justin Kroll suggests that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige doesn't want to "get too far ahead of himself." The clarification came after Twitter went gaga speculating Marvel has roped in Harington to replace Hugh Jackman as the new Wolverine.

"For those thinking Kit was getting Wolverine or one of the F4 members, from what I’ve heard we won’t be getting new talent for those roles anytime soon. Feige just set his slate through 2022 and has never shown to get too far ahead of himself when it comes to development," he tweeted. He also added that fans might not hear any Fox-related project development until 2020.

That is some disappointing news for Marvel fans now. Feige has been dropping subtle hints that X-Men related announcements might not happen soon. As of now, the lineup for MCU phase 4 stands:

Black Widow: May 1, 2020

The Eternals: November 6, 2020

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Fall 2020

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: February 12, 2021

WandaVision: Spring 2021

Loki: Spring 2021

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: May 7, 2021

What If…?: Summer 2021

Hawkeye: Fall 2021

Thor: Love and Thunder: November 5, 2021

Black Panther 2: May 6, 2022.
