Marvel chief Kevin Feige wanted 'a lot more' Goose in Brie Larson starrer Captain Marvel; Here's why
Apart from Brie Larson aka Carol Denvers, the one character that instantly struck a chord with Marvel fans was Goose the cat in Captain Marvel.
Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson as Carol Denvers set the appropriate tone for Avengers: Endgame as it was Marvel's first release of 2019. The film introduced us to the powers of Captain Marvel and how it has come to be one of the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apart from Denvers, the one character that instantly struck a chord with Marvel fans was Goose the cat. Unlike ant other, Goose played one of the most important roles in keeping the Tesseract secure and you might want to thank Marvel's boss Keving Feige.
Turns out, Feige had a huge hand in making Goose such an important character in the script. In an interview recently, film's co-writer and co-director Anna Boden explained that after seeing the first outline for the film, Feige wanted a lot more Goose. "When we were working on the first outline for this movie and we shared it with Kevin Feige, his first note was, 'We need 200 percent more Goose," Boden said.
Boden further revealed that Goose's scenes did not come easy and it took a team of four cats to bring all delightful Goose moments on screen perfectly. "Goose is played by a team of four cats who all have their own specialty," producer Jonathan Schwartz told D23 earlier this year.
