It has been one helluva day for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. Marvel Studios blew away everyone's mind with their MCU phase 4 announcements. The Marvel panel took place at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 wherein the list of upcoming Marvel Studios movies and shows were announced. From The Eternals to Thor: Love And Thunder, several movies were announced at the SDCC. However, one Marvel movie announcement which has left fans jumping with joy is Blade. The 1998 movie which starred Wesley Snipes is being rebooted with Mahershala Ali in the lead.

The actor was present at the panel to don the cap featuring the Blade logo. What a moment it was! While we cannot stop thanking Marvel Studios for choosing Mahershala Ali, it turns out we should be thanking Ali instead. Why? Well, it's because Ali called Kevin Feige and expressed his interest in playing the new Blade.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Feige revealed that the two-time Oscar-winning actor called up Feige and discussed the role. "When Marhershala calls, you answer," Feige said. When the duo met, Ali came out and expressed his wish of doing Blade. Months after the meeting, Ali walked onto the stage at Hall H and bam, he was handed over the cap with the Blade logo. Feige went on to confirm that Ali will not only fill the shoes of Wesley Snipes but he will feature in three Blade movies. How cool is that!

It is to see if Blade could be Marvel Studios' first R-Rated movie. Meanwhile, for the unversed, Blade was created by Marv Wolfman. He first appeared in 1973, in the comic book The Tomb of Dracula #10. He was one of the supporting characters. He is best known as the vampire hunter, who is half-mortal, half-immortal. His aim is to save the world from vampires as a way to avenge his mother who died after a vampire attacked her while she gave birth to Blade.
