25 years after witnessing the journey of Simba, from of a young cub to the King of the Pride Lands, The Lion King (1994) still remains fresh on our minds. The film made us laugh, the film made us cry and the film left us satiated. Hence, it comes as no surprise that a photo-realistic version of The Lion King is out in 2019 to not only have the 90's kids relive the magic but bring the movie to a new generation as well. While Donald Glover voices Simba, Beyonce takes over the voice of Nala.

Other cast members include Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumba, John Oliver as Zazu with James Earl Jones back as the legendary voice of Simba's father, Mufasa. The original music is being retained by Hans Zimmer while Beyonce has helped in curating a special album that includes the recently released inspirational track, Spirit. As we are just days away from the release of The Lion King, here are five reasons why the Jon Favreau directorial is a must-watch:

Nostalgia Factor

We still rewatch 1994's version of The Lion King with joy, tears and laughter. Getting to relive the Hakuna Matata magic yet again, will definitely take you on a trip down memory lane.

Mesmerising Visual Effects

The photo-realism technique was used in 2016's The Jungle Book and bringing that same magic forward is The Lion King, thanks to director Jon Favreau. The visuals of Pride Lands is breathtaking and it's almost as if you were watching a Nat Geo documentary.

Tremendous Voice Cast

When your voice cast includes Donald Glover, Beyonce, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, John Oliver and the legendary James Earl Jones, do you really need another reason to watch The Lion King?

Soul-Stirring Music

Hans Zimmer won the Oscar for Best Original Score for 1994's The Lion King. Hence, the original soundtrack is retained for 2019's version with an additional 'zazz' attached. Beyonce too has curated an album for the movie which includes the inspirational track titled Spirit.

Family Entertainer

People of all ages can watch The Lion King and it will strike a chord; whether you are 8 or 80. It's the perfect family film for all!
