Kristen Stewart has come a long way since her Twilight days, but many remember the actress as the innocent Bella Swan, who was the object of affection for both a sparkling vampire named Edward Cullen and a 6-pack abs werewolf named Jacob Black. After five super-successful Twilight movies, which took place between 2008 and 2012 and her public affair with co-star Robert Pattinson, Kristen shifted her focus to indie films like Kelly Reichardt's Certain Women (2016) and Olivier Assayas' Personal Shopper (2016).

While talking to Vanity Fair, Stewart revealed that working with these independent directors gave her a chance to not "weigh something down." It was so much bigger than her that the baggage she carried was minuscule, in comparison. The actress was finally given a chance to be looked at differently instead of a celebrity-obsessed culture, which went 'Oh, that’s the girl from Twilight.' During her Twilight years, Kristen confessed that she was heavily misunderstood as a rebel and that she seemed like an a*****e.

"I think I’ve grown out of this, but I used to be really frustrated that because I didn’t leap willingly into being at the center of a certain amount of attention, that it seemed like I was an a*****e. I am in no way rebellious. I am in no way contrarian. I just want people to like me," Stewart revealed.
