Kit Harington donates USD 9000 to fundraiser started by Game of Thrones fans; says he was brought to tears
Game of Thrones fans had recently donated to a fundraiser which they kickstarted in support of Kit Harington. An overwhelmed Kit donated $9810.48 to the fundraiser and attached a heartfelt note revealing how he was brought to tears by his fans' special gesture.
It came as a shocking surprise when news broke out that Kit Harington, who we know as Jon Snow, in Game of Thrones, checked himself into a wellness facility in Connecticut owing to "personal issues" which included stress and alcohol use. As a kind gesture, in support of Kit, GOT fans united to launch a fundraiser, the proceeds of which would be donated to the U.K. charity Royal Mencap Society. An overwhelmed Kit, who is out of the wellness facility and is back in London, reacted in the sweetest way.
Given that the fundraiser at 87 percent, Kit Harington completed it to a 100 and helped it reach the £50,000 target, which is $63,000. According to Entertainment Weekly, Harington donated £7728.75, which is $9810.48. Along with the donation, Kit attached a heartfelt message as well. The actor wrote on behalf of the fans who set up the page in his name, contributed and left messages, and asked them to accept his deepest and most heartfelt thank you. "This donations page lifted my heart and brought tears to my eyes, what a beautiful gift to receive…how generous of all of you," Kit wrote.

Talking about how Mencap is a wonderful charity and that the money will go to an incredible cause, Harington concluded by giving his love and respect "from beyond the wall... Kit x."
Long live King in the North!
Meanwhile, one of the biggest reasons for Kit's rehab stint was a difficulty with saying goodbye to the show that made him what he is today.
