Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner were not let in on Emmys joke prior to show? Find Out
The reality stars, who were presenting the Competition Programme award at Sunday's ceremony, were mocked when they introduced the category on stage.
The most awkward moment of this year's Emmys was undoubtedly the Kardashian-Jenner moment on stage. The reality stars, who were presenting the Competition Programme award at Sunday's ceremony, were mocked when they introduced the category on stage. As soon as Kim said, " Kim said, "Our family knows first hand how truly compelling television comes from real people, just being themselves." Kim's statement was met with an audible laugh and an awkward moment prevailed.
According to a latest report in Us Weekly, turns out the sisters were "not briefed" about the joke before they could step on to the stage. A source told Us Weekly that Kardashian, 38, and Jenner, 23, “were not briefed” about the teleprompter bits being “a joke.” The insider adds that “it was definitely a bit awkward.”
Another source revealed to the publication, "Kim and Kendall were good sports about it. The line was supposed to be funny. They weren’t bothered by people laughing." Even before Kendall could begin to say her bit, she was interrupted by an audible laugh. The model, however, continued saying, "Telling their stories, unfiltered and unscripted."
A Twitter user wrote, "Eeeek. There was a very loud laugh from the audience when Kim Kardashian was presenting. Laughing at her; not with her. It was uncomfortable (and, in my opinion, uncalled for) in the room. #Emmys."
