Kat Dennings credits her good friend and Thor co star Natalie Portman for expanding her role as Darcy Lewis
Kat Dennings, in a recent interview, shed some light on Natalie Portman's "friendship magic" contribution towards expanding her role as Darcy Lewis in Thor.
Kat Dennings' fan following increased threefold when she starred in Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman starrer Thor as the goofy, loveable Darcy Lewis, whose epic comic timings shined throughout the movie. But did you know that Dennings and Portman had been good friends even before Thor? Well, during a recent appearance on the Keep It! podcast, Kat revealed how it was Natalie, who was responsible for expanding her role as Darcy in the 2011 superhero movie.
"Because Natalie and I are already friends, I remember this exactly. I walk into the room, and I’m timid. I came in, and I sat down, and Natalie hadn’t gotten there yet, and everyone was so nice. Natalie came in and sat on my lap because we’re friends," the 2 Broke Girls star recalled before adding that the duo's friendship started to infect the team because it's "purity and love." The 34-year-old actress then realised that slowly, Darcy became more involved in the script with Dennings wondering why they were adding her in scenes.
"If I am being honest, friendship magic is the reason I’m here today," Kat credited the Oscar-winning actress.
As witnessed later, Kat would go on to reprise her role as Darcy in Thor: The Dark World as well as the ongoing Disney+ series WandaVision, which stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision.
