Kanye West trumps Jay Z to become the world's highest paid hip hop rapper; Details Inside
Kanye West's total earnings came up to a staggering USD 150 million before taxes this last year, while Jay-Z raked in USD 81 million.
Kanye West emerged as one of the highest-paid hip-hop rappers dethroning Jay-Z according to a latest list published by Forbes. On Thursday, the publication released their annual list which featured the world’s 20 top-earning hip-hop stars. Kanye's total earnings came up to a staggering USD 150 million before taxes this last year, while Jay-Z raked in USD 81 million and ranked second on the list. As per reports, Kanye's earnings rose significantly because of his Adidas Yeezy sneaker line. Whereas Jay-Z's major earnings came from his On The Run II tour with wife and singer Beyoncé.
Ranking on the third spot is 'In My Feelings' artist Drake. With USD 75 million, Drake came in a close third. His raked in the huge amount all from streaming, according to Forbes. His latest album Scorpion was also the most popular album of 2018, according to Billboard.
Among the female rappers, Cardi B in a first ranked at number 13 for earning USD 28 million. She came right behind Nicki Minaj, who earned USD 29 million. Rapper Travis Scott ranked at number 5 with his earnings coming from his Astroworld Tour. Travis Scott's annual earnings are around USD 58 million.
