In November, Kanye took the internet by storm after he posted a photo with Dr. Dre in a recording studio teasing an upcoming collaboration. Kanye announced that the two are working on the Jesus Is King sequel. “Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon,” he tweeted alongside the photo. And now, according to a report by Billboard, during his last Sunday Service in Lynwood, California, the American rapper thanked God for allowing him to work with Dr. Dre.
Crediting God for the upcoming collaboration, Kanye asking people to spend time on God. He asserted that it was after he decided to do an album with God, that he got a chance to work with Dre. “I used to spend all my time trying to make my beats be mixed as good as Dr. Dre. Who knew all I had to do was do an album for God and then Dr. Dre would start mixing my beats? Spend your time on God, and he’ll handle the rest," he said.
It seems like Kanye, like millions of others, has been an absolute Dre Fan since forever. He shared that he liked to mimic the rap god’s Xxplosive drums during The College Dropout's Last Call. Back in 2010, he even poured all his admiration for the rapper in an essay for rolling stone. “Dre feels like God placed him here to make music, and no matter what forces are aligned against him, he always ends up on the mountaintop,” he wrote in the essay.
