Joaquin Phoenix left us spell bound with his performance in the recently released Joker. The Todd Philips directorial has taken the box office by storm. In India, too, the film made decent money at the box office. Joaquin Phoenix as the iconic DC supervillain Joker left fans and movie goers awe struck with his fantastic performance and was praised by critics from all over. His evil looks and body language took the role to the next level and while Joaquin may have done a lot to get the finest details right there's one thing the actor couldn't do.
According to a latest report, Joaquin couldn't sit still in his makeup chair. 'Joker' makeup artist Nicki Ledermann recently revealed that she transformed the 44-year-old actor into a more realistic version of the iconic superhero villain in only a matter of 15 minutes. Yes, you heard that right. She told Dazed Beauty, "It took an average of 15-20 minutes to apply the makeup. Partly because it was hard for Joaquin to sit still but also because I didn’t want it to look too precisely thought out."
To achieve the look, "I used and mixed different products to match the texture and colours exactly, freehand the placement and not interrupt the speedy pace and incredible intensity of filming, so it would look fluent and authentic." She also revealed that the hardest part was to maintain the continuity of makeup while filming since different scenes were shot at various times.
