Joaquin Phoenix on Joker: A psychologist must not be able to decipher the character very easily
The actor also adds that the complexity of the Joker's character is such that he does not wish any psychologist should be able to crack the character easily.
The trailer of the highly anticipated film Joker was released by its makers recently. The film, stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck aka Joker who is struggling with life. The character faces humiliation, failure and neglect at every step of life. Joaquin Phoenix had invested nearly eight months period in understanding the depth of Joker's character. What makes the character so dark and really keeps it going, and somehow ends up becoming the villain to DC's star Batman. The actor while talking about the film admits that he had to study personality disorders, lose a considerable amount of weight and practice laughter till it looks natural.
The actor Joaquin Phoenix is said to have lost around 50 pounds of weight as per reports. The actor also adds that the complexity of the Joker's character is such that he does not wish any psychologist should be able to crack the character very easily. Joker is a dark, deep and a distinguished character which must remain hard to decipher even to a psychologist. The film, Joker will be hitting the big screen on October 4. Joaquin Phoenix's Joker was a character which even the makers and the actor were in process of understanding till the last day. The director of Joker, Todd Phillips also admits that he and his co-writer Scott Silver motivated each other to come up with something that is just outrageous and out of the box.
