Spider-Man: Far From Home marks the entry of Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal into the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). The actor essays the role of Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio and brings along with him the multiverse aspect. While Peter Parker has to move on from the loss of his mentor, Tony Stark, Quentin becomes best buddies with Parker as they fight The Elementals. During the press tour of Spider-Man: Far From Home, you could see the offscreen camaraderie channel in their onscreen friendship as well.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jake confided that he was frazzled and overwhelmed when he first came on the sets of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tom revealed that he too felt the same way when he started shooting for Captain America: Civil War (2016). Gyllenhaal shared that it was Tom's leadership quality and kindness that helped Jake in easing into the MCU world. "When he took on the responsibility of leadership, he did it in such a beautiful way, even though we share a difference of many years in our ages and experience. I really looked up to him in that sense. He did it in such a kind way," Jake stated to EW.
