Andy Muschietti, director of It: Chapter 2, revealed why he thinks Pennywise and the US President Donald Trump have a lot in common. Read below to know more about what Andy had to say on the same.
Amongst the exciting lineup of Hollywood flicks releasing in September 2019, IT: Chapter 2 is perhaps the most awaited. When IT released in 2017, it became the highest-grossing horror film of all time at $700 million worldwide. Based on the 1986 Stephen King's namesake novel, IT: Chapter 2 will see The Losers Club all grown up and takes place 27 years later. The Andy Muschietti directorial stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean while Bill Skarsgård returns as the treacherous clown, Pennywise.
In an interview with AFP, Andy commented on Pennywise, while taking a dig at the US President Donald Trump. Comparing King's iconic villain to Trump, Muschietti stated, "He does exactly what the clown does, you know?," while adding, "The clown is trying to divide the 'Losers' all the time, to turn them against them(selves) and make them weaker. That's how he conquers, he tries to conquer them and destroy them." This is indeed a strong statement made by Andy and not the first time a prominent celebrity has targeted Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Variety, Jessica revealed that there won't be an IT 3 in the future and if there were, it won't include her or director Andy. "Because Stephen King didn't write an IT 3. The book's done... If he decides to write another chapter, great. But most likely, it'll be another 27 years later, so there'll be another actress," Chastain added.
IT: Chapter 2 is slated to release in India on September 6, 2019.
