Selena Gomez is one of the most followed personalities on Instagram but the singer recently shocked her die-hard fans when she said last week that she deleted the photo-blogging app from her phone. The 'Come And Get It' hitmaker had revealed that social media made her feel depressed. Selena had appeared on LIVE With Kelly and Ryan and spoke about the impact of social media. Now, Instagram's boss Adam Mosseri has revealed that he was "disappointed" to learn that Selena did not have the app on her phone anymore.
Speaking to BBC News, Mosseri said, "She has over 100 million followers, it's a whole other world. We need to make sure creators like her are getting value out of the platform." He also added that he would be glad to hear from Gomez about what can be done to improve the social networking site. "We like the criticism, we like to have the conversation."
Speaking last week on the show, Selena had said, "I used it a lot but I think it's just become really unhealthy, I think, personally, for young people, including myself, to spend all of their time fixating on all these comments and letting this stuff in. It was affecting me. It would make me depressed. It would make me feel not good about myself and look at my body differently and all kinds of stuff."
Earlier, too, Selena Gomez had called out filters on apps like Instagram and Snapchat for only showing blue and brown eyes. The singer and actress is currently not in a relationship and has been concentrating on her well being.
