GOT S8 E4: 5 Highlights from Game of Thrones' episode that had us on the edge of our seats

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 looked into the aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell as the living paid tribute to the ones lost like Jorah Mormont, Theon Greyjoy and Lyanna Mormont. The funeral was then followed by a celebration dinner which saw many character arcs set in motion. We also got to see more into the game plan of Daenerys Targaryen who wants one thing and that is the Iron Throne. However, more and more characters are getting wary about whether she truly deserves to be the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms or not.

On the other hand, we finally see a returning Cersei Lannister who had to prove a point and that is exactly what she did. Whether it be Rhaegal or Missandei, Cersei hit Dany right in the heart and what we saw in return, was the slow and gradual descent to madness aka the Mad Queen. But, the dark horse Jon Snow is going to be playing a big role in the Game of Thrones as he has to choose between two families - the Starks or the Targaryens!

1. The Funeral

Post the Battle of Winterfell, the episode begins with a funeral sequence for the ones lost. To see a weeping Daenerys and Sansa as they grieve for Theon and Jorah was heartbreaking. But, the highlight was Jon Snow being the one to light Lady Mormont's pyre.

2. The Celebration Dinner

From grieving to celebrating a hard-fought victory, the celebration dinner in Winterfell was equal parts light-hearted and equal-parts dramatic. Whether it be Dany's insecurities in the forefront or the sequence between Tyrion, Podrick, Jaime and Brienne, it was perfect.

3. Brienne and Jaime

We missed the Brienne and Jaime scenes during the Battle of Winterfell and in episode 4, we are given aplenty. From losing her virginity to Jaime and right up to Jaime leaving Winterfell with a heartbroken Brienne was the roller-coaster ride we expected from this unconventional couple. 

4. The Rhaegal Shocker

Cersei was MIA from the Battle of Winterfell and hence had to make the right impact. Thanks to Euron, we were left shocked when Rhaegal died, within seconds. From there, we could see Dany's dissent in becoming the Mad Queen.

5. Farewell Missandei

"Dracarys," yells Missandei as she becomes the scapegoat for Cersei to make a staunch statement and we can be sure that there will be hell to pay for the Lannister Queen as Dany's patience is beyond tested now.
