There is no denying that Gossip Girl became iconic courtesy Leighton Meester aka Blair Waldorf. Queen B was someone we all wanted to be in our lives. She reminded us to wear our tiara and never be ashamed of it. While the reboot makers have assured us that no new face will replace Leighton as Blair on the show, the makers are open to feature Leighton in the reboot as Blair in a cameo. However, the actress has now revealed that she might not be headed to the reboot sets.

Speaking with Good Morning America at the TCA press tour, the actress revealed that she might not reprise her iconic television role for the reboot. The reason being, she hasn't been asked to star or return in a cameo. The actress, who was on the CW show with Blake Lively, Ed Westwick and others from 2007 until 2012, confessed that she wasn't approached by the makers.

"I was not asked to be on it, so no," she said. However, the show's co-creator Josh Schwartz confirmed that the OG cast knew about the reboot and the makers have reached out to them. Sharing the update at the TCA press tour, Josh said, "We reached out to all of them to let them know it was happening and that we would love for them to be involved if they want to be involved. They played those characters for six years and if they felt like they’re good with that, we wanted to respect that. But obviously, it’d be great to see them again.”

Meanwhile, Chace Crawford too confessed previously that he wasn't approached. "No-one called me – I was really upset about it," he told on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. "I'm teasing, it's great. I could maybe come back and play a father. It'd be nice," he added. The actor is ready to even play a father on the show.

Given that Gossip Girl co-creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage confirmed the reboot will take place in the same world as the previous Upper East Siders, there is a chance the OG cast could return. "It’s the same world. As we get closer, we can kind of roll out details of what exactly is going to be the same and tie us to the original show," Schwartz told Us Weekly. "At the end of the first season we jumped five years ahead and Gossip Girl was back, so it was kind of set up that this is an eternal presence that would reinsert at least at some point," Savage added.
