Game of Thrones stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey CONFIRMED to star in HBO's The Last of Us
In what will be an HBO homecoming, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are all set to star in The Last of Us, which is based on the popular video game of the same name.
From one big-ticket project to another, Pedro Pascal is surely living the best life as an actor and deservedly so. From taking us to a galaxy far, far away in The Mandalorian to butting heads with Wonder Woman in WW84, Pascal is truly the one who everyone has their 'casting' eyes on. Adding another ambitious project to his kitty, Deadline revealed that Pedro will be starring in the upcoming HBO series The Last of Us.
Moreover, Bella Ramsey, who stole hearts as the fierce Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, will be starring alongside Pedro in the new series, which is based on Neil Druckmann’s popular video game of the same name. While Kantemir Balagov of the Beanpole fame will be directing the pilot, Craig Mazin of Chernobyl fame will be penning the script along with Druckmann. Pedro reacted to the happy news on Twitter by sharing the mindblown and skeleton emoticon while also tweeting about Bella's casting, "...no matter what, you keep finding something to fight for."
According to Deadline, The Last of Us' setting is twenty years post-modern civilisation being destroyed. Pascal plays Joel, a hardened survivor who is hired to smuggle, out of an oppressive quarantine zone, Ellie (played by Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl. What is supposed to be a small job turns into a brutal heartbreaking journey as the duo travel across the US and have to depend on each other for survival.
While being tortured by past trauma and failure, Joel has to pass through a pandemic-ravaged America while protecting Ellie, who is the representation of humanity's last hope.
