Game of Thrones' spinoff series on Maisie Williams' Arya Stark to happen? Here's the truth
Just like fans, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau aka Jaime too recently revealed that he too wants Arya Stark spin-off series. He said, "I know they're doing all these prequels, but what about the sequel? With Arya?"
Game of Thrones' finale episode was aired on Sunday and the same received a negative response from the audience. At the end of the episode, we saw how all the four Starks march on different paths with Arya Stark embarking on an adventure to find out what lies in the West of Westeros as the map ends there. Soon, fans started speculating that Arya spin-off can happen.
And now, HBO Executive, Casey Bloys in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter commented on the rumours. He said that GoT prequel will start off in June, but Arya Stark series is not happening. Bloys said, "Nope, nope, nope. No" and explained why he doesn't want this, or any spin-offs on characters from the flagship series.
He said, "Part of it is, I do want this show — this Game of Thrones, Dan and David's show — to be its own thing. I don't want to take characters from this world that they did beautifully and put them off into another world with someone else creating it."
"I want to let it be the artistic piece they've got. That's one of the reasons why I'm not trying to do the same show over. George has a massive, massive world; there are so many ways in. That's why we're trying to do things that feel distinct — and to not try and redo the same show. That's probably one of the reasons why, right now, a sequel or picking up any of the other characters doesn't make sense for us."
This is sad news for the fans of Arya Stark. Just like fans, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau aka Jaime too recently revealed that he too wants Arya Stark spin-off series. He said, "I know they're doing all these prequels, but what about the sequel? With Arya? How about – I'm just throwing something out here – how about a petition? An online petition to HBO that they do a sequel with Arya Stark."
