Sophie Turner got candid about her character Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones and why she was the right fit to be the Queen in the North. Read below to know more about what Sophie had to say on the same.
Sophie Turner's character Sansa Stark was amongst the survivors in Game of Thrones Season 8 as she was crowned the Queen in the North. While playing the fragile teen, who only wanted a fairytale wedding with the handsome prince at the beginning of the series, we saw Sansa's transition to the powerful woman, who could stand up for herself while cleverly playing the game of thrones with her intellect. It came as no surprise that Sophie was amongst the ten series regulars to receive an Emmy nomination for the final season, specifically in the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category.
In an interview with the LA Times, Sophie got candid about Sansa Stark and where she ended up in the final season. On why she feels that her character was worthy of being the Queen in the North, Turner stated, "The fact that she doesn’t want power is also something to be said for her. She only cares about the North." Furthermore, when quizzed about where she sees Sansa in the future after becoming queen, Sophie revealed, "No wars, no battles. I see her leading until she’s very old. I don’t see her getting married or having children."
"I think it would be a democratic kind of kingdom. She’d die of old age, very happy," Turner added.
