Game of Thrones: Sophie Turner & Maisie Williams get nostalgic; Alfie Allen shares group pic from Emmys 2019
Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who became household names after starring in Game of Thrones, took to their Instagram page for a final ode to the iconic series. Alfie Allen shared another group shot featuring a majority of the GOT cast members. Check out the photo below.
Emmys 2019 could very well have been renamed the Game of Thrones tribute as fans got to see the main cast, center stage, together for the very last time. Specifically, the nominated cast members - Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gwendoline Christie, Alfie Allen, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams - were met with a standing ovation for their hard work, which was witnessed through the eight glorious seasons. Not only that, GOT took home Outstanding Drama Series, while Peter was honoured for the fourth time with the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Emmy.
Sophie and Maisie, who became household names in their teenage years' thanks to Game of Thrones, took to their Instagram pages to give one final homage to the iconic series. While Sophie wrote, "Well... we won best drama. What an incredible way to say goodbye to the best ten years of my life," Maisie wrote, "What a dream come true. I feel so honoured to have shared the Emmy’s stage with the most wonderful cast of all time, for the last time, picking up best show for Game of Thrones. 10 years of joy, mud and magic. Thank you."
After sharing an amazing GOT group selfie from the Emmys 2019, Alfie posted another group photo, which was taken after the series won Outstanding Drama Series. While most of the cast members were present, considerably missing were Kit, Emilia and Peter.
Allen wrote, "Best Drama Emmy’s ‘19... FAM," along with various heart emoticons.
We adore this cast and how!
