Game of Thrones Season 8 may have been heavily criticised by the die-hard fans, but the iconic TV series created history with 32 Emmy nominations at Emmys 2019. From the 32 Emmy nods, 10 series regulars were honoured in the acting categories. The list includes Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke in the Lead Actor and Lead Actress category while Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Alfie Allen, Lena Headey, Gwendoline Christie, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams scored nominations in the Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories. Carice van Houten was nominated in the Guest Actress category.

While conversing with The Wrap about her Emmy nomination, Sophie got candid about how the GOT cast will reunite one last time at the award ceremony and that she is going to finally have an emotional breakdown about the show ending. "I think the biggest moment is yet to come when I really break down. I think it might be at the Emmys, because the Emmys are going to be the last time that we’ll ever see each other, at least as a cast," Turner revealed.

However, Sophie was quick to add, "Or maybe I’ll never really say goodbye. It’s really my family, and because we love each other so much, it’ll be goodbye to the characters but not to each other."

Sansa, Thank you for teaching me resilience, bravery and what true strength really is. Thank you teaching me to be kind and patient and to lead with love. I grew up with you. I fell in love with you at 13 and now 10 years on.. at 23 I leave you behind, but I will never leave behind what you’ve taught me. To the show and the incredible people who make it, thank you for giving me the best life and drama lessons I could have ever asked for. Without you I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you for giving me this chance all those years ago. And finally to the fans. Thank you for falling in love with these characters and supporting this show right through till the end. I’ll miss this more than anything.
