Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 Highlights: The watch has come to a bittersweet end

The watch has finally ended! We have officially bid farewell to Game of Thrones, a show which has lasted a decade on HBO and for a lifetime, in the hearts of the die-hard fans. We almost felt like a part of Westeros as we saw our favourite characters like Tyrion Lannister and Arya Stark flourish. Season 8 has invoked mixed reactions amongst all of us because of the treatment given to the writing. The Last War saw Daenerys Targaryen on top, but episode 6 was a shocker on Dany, for sure.

*SPOILERS ALERT* The episode saw many highlights, which began from the get-go. Whether it be Tyrion finding Jaime and Cersei's bodies amongst the rubble or even Jon Snow putting an end to the Queen and the love of his life by staking a knife into her heart. We saw many character arc completing and finally saw Bran Stark being named as the King of Westeros. It was indeed a roller-coaster ride of emotions as said goodbye to GOT. Check out the major highlights from Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6:

1. Tyrion finds Jaime and Cersei's bodies

While one would hope that the Lannister siblings would maybe make it out alive, to see Tyrion find Jaime and Cersei's bodies. It seemed like the ending of the Lannister clan, the ones who made the game fun! To see Tyrion weep for his brother was a sight to remember forever.

2. Jon kills Daenerys

A moment we were expecting and it was still shocking to see the events occur. Jon Snow killing the love of his life, for the people. Daenerys Targaryen was destined to be the Mad Queen and we knew her end was coming as soon as we saw what she did during the Last War. Yet, to see her die almost seemed like a slap in our face.

3. Drogon destroys the Iron Throne

Drogon realizes that it wasn't Jon Snow who killed his mother, it was her lust for the Iron Throne. Hence, Jon is spared and the Iron Throne is destroyed. Almost befitting, how everyone had their eyes on the throne and Drogon won't let anyone else have it.

4. Bran is named King of Westeros

Many would have a problem with this final decision of having Bran named as the King of Westeros. However, Tyrion's reasoning for voting for Bran made perfect sense. Sansa and Bran's conversation is what really got to us. Sansa refusing to bend the knee and claiming the North as an independent kingdom was the win that the Starks needed. And, they deservedly got it.

5. The ending

Whether it be Tyrion being named the Hand of the King, Sansa being named the Queen in the North, Jon Snow marching beyond the wall, Arya Stark heading for an adventure or Brienne finally giving Jaime the closure he deserved, the character arcs of the living was completed. Whether we liked it or not, is up for debate.
