Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 was a mixed bag of emotions as we were taken on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. While there were many heartbreaking moments that were talked about, such as Jaime leaving Brienne behind to head back to King's Landing or even Missandei's death, there were certain complaints as well. Everyone, who is anyone, is talking about the Starbucks controversy as a coffee cup was found next to Daenerys Targaryen in the celebration dinner scene. However, there was another scene which led to public outrage.

The scene in question was when Jon Snow was gearing up to leave Winterfell to fight alongside Queen Dany. He was seen giving a heartfelt goodbye to Tormund, Samwell and Gilly. In the sequence, we also saw a battle-torn Ghost, who has been by his master's side for the longest time. One would assume that Jon would bid a befitting goodbye to his pet direwolf, but such was not the case. A simple nod and asking Tormund to take Ghost with him sufficed. Twitterati questioned Jon and shamed him for not petting Ghost, who has been his best confidant during the toughest of times.

When Huffington Post UK asked director David Nutter about that impasse moment between Jon and Ghost, he revealed, "Since the direwolves are kind of CG creations, we felt it best to keep it as simple as possible. And I think that it played out much more powerfully that way.”
