Game of Thrones: Maisie Williams aka Arya Stark reveals she regrets not doing THIS in GoT season 8

Warning: This story is packed with Game of Thrones spoilers. Game of Thrones season 8 concluded over the weekend. And it is safe to say that Arya Stark was the star of the final season. The Stark sibling, who was played by Maisie Williams, left everyone stunned. The GoT character shocked everyone when she killed the Night King while Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were seen helpless in front of winter king. It was during that episode, Melisandre had teased that Arya would not only kill the Night King but also someone with green eyes. Fans quickly assumed it was Cersei.

Through the show, Cersei was also one of the names on Arya's list of people she wants to kill. Although Arya reached King's Landing to kill the Lannister sister, she failed as Dany burnt down the King's Landing and Cersei died under the rubbles. Fans were disappointed that Arya couldn't kill Cersei.

Turns out, even Maisie is disappointed that Arya did not get a chance to kill Cersei. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress said, "I just wanted to be on set with Lena again, she’s good fun. And I wanted Arya to kill Cersei even if it means [Arya] dies too. Even up to the point when Cersei’s with Jaime I thought [while reading the script], ‘He’s going to whip off his face [and reveal its Arya]’ and they’re both going to die. I thought that’s what Arya’s drive has been.”

We thought the same, Maisie. We're glad we're not the only ones.

Meanwhile, Twitter went gaga after Arya decided to travel West of Westeros in the final episode of Game of Thrones. Fans demanded that a spin-off series on Arya should be made. However, the makers shot down the idea. HBO programming president Casey Bloys told The Hollywood Reporter that they are not going to make a show on Arya Stark.

"Nope, nope, nope. No. Part of it is, I do want this show — this Game of Thrones, Dan and David's show — to be its own thing. I don't want to take characters from this world that they did beautifully and put them off into another world with someone else creating it. I want to let it be the artistic piece they've got," he said.

"That's one of the reasons why I'm not trying to do the same show over. George has a massive, massive world; there are so many ways in. That's why we're trying to do things that feel distinct — and to not try and redo the same show. That's probably one of the reasons why, right now, a sequel or picking up any of the other characters doesn't make sense for us," he added.
