Game of Thrones: George RR Martin REVEALS the deadline for The Winds of Winter

Many fans were disappointed after watching the eighth and final season of the fantasy series Game of Thrones. GoT fanatics had huge expectations from this season after watching the previous seasons. However, many fans were disappointed and according to them, the eighth season was not up to the mark. But not just viewers, some of the cast members like Conleth Hill aka Lord Varys and Lena Headey aka Cersei were not happy as well. Another important person who wasn't happy with the season was the writer of the fantasy saga, George RR Martin.

However, Martin has not written his end of the series yet and it is in works. Currently, he is working on the book, The Winds of Winter. And it won't be much long till it is out as the author has finally given himself a deadline for completing his next book after receiving a plea from Air New Zealand. He said, "In the summer of 2020, Wellington is hosting the World Science Fiction Convention, the oldest and most important con in the SF/ fantasy calendar, and they’ve asked me to serve as Toastmaster for the Hugo Awards.   Writers, fans, and artists from all over the world will be headed down to check out all of your wonders. I hope lots of you Kiwis will join us."

George RR Martin further added, "As for finishing my book… I fear that New Zealand would distract me entirely too much. Best leave me here in Westeros for the nonce.   But I tell you this — if I don’t have THE WINDS OF WINTER in hand when I arrive in New Zealand for worldcon, you have here my formal written permission to imprison me in a small cabin on White Island, overlooking that lake of sulfuric acid, until I’m done." Well, the series and books of GoT don't go hand in hand. Therefore, the fans are really eager to know how the things turn out in the books.
