Game of Thrones Finale: Here's how many people could give work a miss after GoT ends

Daenerys Targaryen has turned King's Landing into ashes with the help of Drogon. And now, she's all set to take over the Iron Throne in the Game of Thrones finale airing tonight. While we are preparing ourselves to witness the GoT finale, we are also in the state of denial over the fact that this is the last time an episode of Game of Thrones will air. This will be the last time we would see Daenerys, Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark and Tyrion come together to play the game of throne. We've already dropped an email to our boss that we will be taking sick leave because we definitely time to mourn the ending of GoT.

And now, a Workforce Institute at Kronos poll assures us that we won't be the only ones who will be giving the office a miss this Monday, CNBC reports. Turns out, at least 10.7 million people in the US alone will be skipping work courtesy Game of Thrones finale. The poll states that a whopping 4.9 million Americans could give work a miss to stay back home and mourn the fate of Westros. Participants of the poll said that they will either call in sick or use a vacation day to skip work. And this is just employees on Monday.

As many as 5.8 employees who usually spend Sunday nights at work are planning on taking an off day from work and watch the finale unfold. Any true blue Game of Thrones fan wouldn't want the internet ruin the finale for them. We can already picture house parties with GoT themes taking place on May 19.

Anyway, while 10.7 million people will skip work, not everyone is part of the mass bunk. The poll result reveals that about 2.9 million people will call in late whereas 3.4 million will resort to working out from remote locations.

We smell a huge viewership number making the headlines on Monday. How are you planning on dealing with Game of Thrones ending? Let us know your ways of mourning in the comments below.
