Game of Thrones ending hits Kit Harington aka Jon Snow 'hard', checks into rehab; Read Details
Game of Thrones star Kit Harington is in rehab. The actor, who played Jon Snow on the show, was admitted in a luxury facility weeks before the GoT finale episode was aired.
Game of Thrones ended last week. The decade long show had a curtain fall when it aired GoT's season 8 episode 6. Following the end, the cast members have begun moving on. Sophie Turner aka Sansa Stark will soon be seen in X-Men's Dark Pheonix. Maisie Williams aka Arya Stark also has a couple of projects lined up as well. However, Kit Harington has no projects lined up post the ending of GoT. It was previously reported that he was taking a break. It has now been revealed that the actor, who played Jon Snow on the show, has checked into rehab.
The actor has checked into a Privé-Swiss health facility in Connecticut and is seeking help, Page Six reveals. The actor has checked into the luxury rehab for stress and alcohol use. It is revealed that the show's ending "really hit him hard" and thus resulting in the recent turn of events. Harington reportedly checked into the rehab weeks before the HBO premiered the finale episode. He is in the retreat for a month. It costs over $120,000 per month.
"The end of ‘GoT’ really hit Kit hard … He realized ‘this is it — this is the end’, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, what next?" a friend of Kit told the publication. A source also said his wife Rose Leslie has been extremely supportive. The actress, who played Ygritte on Game of Thrones, married Kit last year. "His wife Rose is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet," the insider shared.

Kit's publicist issued a statement, "Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues."
In a recent interview with Variety, the actor confessed that he was in his "darkest" phase of his life when the series filmed Jon Snow's death and resurrection scene, making him the focus of the show. “My darkest period was when the show seemed to become so much about Jon when he died and came back. I really didn’t like the focus of the whole show coming onto Jon," he said.
“When you become the cliffhanger of a TV show, and a TV show probably at the height of its power, the focus on you is f—–g terrifying. That was a time when I started therapy and started talking to people. I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone," he added. "It wasn’t a very good time in my life. I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world when actually, I felt very vulnerable. I had a shaky time in my life around there — like I think a lot of people do in their 20s."
The British actor had previously confessed he doesn't want to do another Jon Snow. "I don't want to try and repeat Jon Snow. Maybe something slightly lighter. It's a very heavy, heavy show, heavy role. So something which is a bit lighter, a bit funnier maybe. Other than that, I don't really know," he told Harper's BAZAAR US a few weeks ago.
