Like it or not, Game of Thrones has bagged the highest nominations at the Emmys 2019. The Emmys nominations list was released recently and the hit HBO show earned 32 nominations. The hit HBO show has earned nominations in several categories which include Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting acts. The nominations list featured names like Kit Harrington, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Gwendoline Christie. The David Benioff and D.B. Weiss created series, based on George R.R. Martin’s writing, has set a new record of most nominations earned any drama series in a single year.

Following the announcement, several Game of Thrones stars took to social media to share their reactions. Maisie Williams couldn't sum up her nomination in words. So she chose to react using a GIF. Maisie has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her act as Arya Stark on the show.

Gwendoline Christie took to Instagram to share a screenshot of her Best Supporting Actress nomination announcement and wrote, "I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!????!?!!?!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #EmmyAwards #CANITTRULYBEREAL??????????" She played Brienne of Tarth and this was her first nomination for the series. Lena Headey, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress as well, congratulated her co-star over the nomination by shouting out her name. The actress who played the iconic Cersei Lannister wrote, "GWENDOLINE."

Although Isaac Hempstead Wright aka Bran Stark was crowned the King of Six Kingdoms, he didn't bag a nomination. However, he joined his co-stars in celebrating their nominations. He commented on Gwendoline's Instagram post with a string of heart-eyed emojis.

Theon Greyjoy's contributions might be thanked with an Emmy this year. Alfie Allen, who played the tragic role on the show, has bagged Best Supporting Actor nomination for his act on the show. He took to his Instagram Stories and wrote, "Wow. Was not expecting that."

Kit Harington shared his reaction with Us Weekly. He said, "Many thanks to the Academy. It’s been an amazing journey with ol’ Jon Snow. I’m thrilled he’s been nominated." Nikolaj Coster-Waldau spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and said, "It's unreal. We're all just so thrilled, all of us. To have Kit, Emilia, myself, Peter, Alfie, Gwendoline, Maisie, Sophie, Lena, Carice … 10 of us? It's insane! None of us expected this. [The] only thing I can say is you don't get this many actors nominated with bad writing," he added. "It just does not happen. This validates the writing on Game of Thrones, for sure."
