Friends is one of the iconic shows and the talks related to the sitcom always rock the headlines even though the show went off air many years back. The show and star cast of the series were in the news recently as the reports of a special episode featuring Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer among other have been floating everywhere. And now, we have learned that legendary actor Tom Hanks was supposed to play a cameo in the series. Yes, you read it right! As per EW.com's interview with Freddie Prinze Jr., the actor revealed that Tom almost played his character, Sandy.
For the unversed, Freddie had played the role of male Nanny in the 200th episode of the sitcom. He comes in Rachel and Ross' lives when they stay together with their daughter Emma. Ross was against the idea of 'Manny' and he decided to fire him. Later, ironically, Ross found emotional support in Sandy. Freddie told EW.com, "I wasn’t even supposed to be Sandy, that was originally offered to Tom Hanks but he wasn’t gonna make it back from his film on time." He added, "And so my agent called me and said, ‘Do you want to be on Friends? And I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do an episode of Friends. That’ll be great.'"
