Vin Diesel's stunt double Joe Watts is in an induced coma after suffering a serious head injury, post a deadly stunt for Fast & Furious 9. During a 30ft high balcony sequence, Joe's safety wire snapped and he plunged to the ground while landing on his head.
In some horrific news for the team of Fast & Furious 9, Vin Diesel's stunt double Joe Watts has suffered a head injury while performing a dangerous stunt at the Warner Brothers Studio in Hertfordshire, Southern England. A source informed The Sun that Joe was filming a very high balcony sequence. He proceeded to leap from the balcony, which was attached to a safety wire. Unfortunately, the cable snapped and he plunged to the ground while the height was said to be more than 30ft. The plan was for him to be left dangling below the balcony via the wire and then "lowered slowly to the ground."
But, owing to the untimely snap of the wire, he fell on the ground hard and landed on his head. Vin was present on the sets when the horrific accident took place. The source added that the actor, "looked ashen, totally in shock and blinking back tears. He saw what happened." In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson from Universal Studios confirmed the freak accident and shared, "We had an injury on the set of Fast 9 today in Leavesden with one of our stuntmen. We have halted production for the day to focus on this situation."

An air ambulance immediately transported Joe to the Royal London Hospital and he's been put into a coma.
Joe's fiancée Tilly Powell opened up about Watt's accident and shared on Facebook, "Joe has suffered a serious head injury and is in an induced coma. He is stable and is being monitored closely throughout the night. I love him so much and my heart is shattered. He has all his family and friends by his side to get him through this!"
Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe and his family.
