Bill Hader's show Barry was amongst the hot picks by many to dominate at Emmys 2019. While Game of Thrones made history this year with a record-breaking 32 nominations for its final season, Barry was not far behind as it secured 17 nominations including the big honours such as Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Bill Hader, Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Henry Winkler, Stephen Root and Anthony Carrigan, Oustanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Sarah Goldberg, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
Fleabag took home most of the Comedy wins but Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series was booked for Mr. Hader, who won the coveted trophy second time in a row, for Barry! During his winning speech, the 41-year-old actor dedicated his win to Barry co-creator Alec Berg but not without poking fun at him. "I get asked a lot for the show, 'How do you direct yourself?' and I said, 'There’s a lot of great directors on the show, but the person I usually go to is my friend and co-creator Alec Berg,'" the Saturday Night Alum started his speech.

"And usually after every take, I’ll go over to Alec and say, 'What do you think?' and I usually get one of two responses. It’s either, 'Yeah, we should move on' or 'Eh, we should go again,'" Bill quipped.
"So I want to thank you for molding my performance and I don’t know where I would be without you. Love you, man," Hader concluded in a sweet note.
