Eddie Murphy to be honoured with Career Achievement Award by Critics Choice Association; Read Deets
Critics Choice Association is going to honour legendary actor Eddie Murphy for his tremendous contribution to cinema. Eddie’s long career with a lot of critically acclaimed films has made him the deserving candidate for this award.
Eddie Murphy was ranked on the 10th spot in the list of 100 greatest Stand-ups of all-time by Comedy Central. In films, he has been a part of incredible movies such as 48 Hrs, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor, Dreamgirls and Dr Dolittle series among others. Eddie is now gearing up for Coming 2 America that is the sequel of his film Coming to America that released back in 1988.
It has been reported by The Wrap that Critics Choice Association is going to celebrate the century of Black Cinema. The event is going to held at Landmark Annex on December 2. The association is going to honour a lot of other big names such as Nia Long, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kasi Lemmons for taking it to glorious heights. The CEO of CCA Joey Carlin has also expressed his immense happiness in honouring all these stars.
The event is going to be hosted by the former president Cheryl Boone Isaacs of the Academy Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. The event is going to highlight the contribution of some other notable stars and filmmakers who have played a crucial role in the success of Black Cinema. Also, the event is going to pay homage to the legendary filmmaker Oscar Micheaux, who is credited by many as the first African American to create a feature-length film titled The Homesteader back in 1919.
The event is going to be an important day for Black Cinema and we hope things keep on shining for them in the coming future. Also, congratulations to Eddie Murphy for the huge award that he is going to get on December 2.
