Kim Kardashian may be raking in controversy with every release of her makeup or fashion line. But the reality star is also putting her celebrity status and powers to good use. Kim, who was back at the White House this month, introduced a new programme and promoted efforts to help those leaving prison return to the workforce without any judgement. While she was at it, Kim also interacted with US President Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.

Weeks after her visit, Kim took to Instagram to share pictures from her visit to the White House. To empower those leaving prison, Kim even announced a new collaboration between a cab service and the First Step Act, a new bill that gives nonviolent offenders the chance to re-enter society.

Kim shared some candid pictures from her visit. The behind-the-scenes pictures show Kim posing in her teal pant suit. Not just against a door but on a table inside the White House. Yes, you heard it right. Kim Kardashian reportedly took the liberty to sit on a table inside the White House alongside her attorneys she has been working with, both of whom were sitting in chairs at the table. However, there are conflicting reports that the picture may also be inside a hotel. Since the passage of the First Step Act in December, I’ve been speaking with people coming home from prison and learning about the challenges they are facing. While I have been able to offer support to some of the individuals I have met, the obstacles to success are an everyday struggle for thousands and more needs to be done. It was an honor to take part in the announcement that the administration and private sector will be stepping up to create opportunities for these men and women to succeed once home. I’m proud to partner on this initiative with @Lyft , a company with a history of taking bold action to do what’s right for our community. Thank you for providing ride share credits to formally incarcerated people when they come home. If there are any other companies who would like to step up, we would welcome the support. At the moment we have a particular need for cell phones and minutes so that these people can communicate with potential employers and with their loved ones.

In her speech, Kim had thanked Ivanka and Jared for helping her get there and said, "I wanted to make a difference and just wanted to do the right thing, but I didn't know how."
