Demi Lovato OPENS UP about recovering from her eating disorder: Says ‘I want to celebrate my stretch marks’

Demi Lovato recently opened up about her eating disorder and wrote a lengthy piece about recovering from it and coming around to appreciate her body in all its glory. The 28-year-old singer took to Instagram and shared an empowering message on Christmas Eve where she began by saying that she initially believed that recovering from an eating disorder was not possible and that everyone was just hiding it away behind closed doors. She even revealed that there was a time when she believed people can't possibly accept their flaws like cellulite and stretch marks.
But, fortunately, she sai that she has changed her mind now. Lovato recalled an instance from the past summer when her doctor made her realise that she is a beacon of recovery from eating disorders and Demi pondered upon how proud she felt of her body. She then lightened her tone and said revealed that just in an effort to celebrate her body, she did a home photoshoot in the previous summer and chose to celebrate her flaws like stretchmarks and cellulite instead of being ashamed of them and try to hide them.
Demi recalled feeling so proud of her body that she started wearing glitter paint on her stretch marks to accentuate its features. She also said that whether society deems them as good or bad, they are good for her. "My stretch marks aren’t going away so might as well throw a lil glitter on em’ amiright? Also let this be a reminder to anyone who doesn’t think it’s possible: IT ACTUALLY IS, YOU CAN DO IT. I BELIEVE IN YOU. This year was tough.. be gentle on yourself if you slip up and remember to get right back on track because you’re WORTH THE MIRACLE OF RECOVERY, I LOVE YOU,” Demi concluded.
