Demi Lovato is getting candid about her struggles. From music to her drug overdose battle, the pop singer spoke up on a host of issues. The singer addressed her near-fatal drug overdose episode in July 2018 when she was rushed to the hospital and eventually had to undergo rehab. Since then, the singer has been on the path of sobriety and steadily getting back to making new music. Speaking at the Teen Vogue Summit in Los Angeles, Lovato spoke about how she’s stronger than ever.

Demi said, "What I see in the mirror [is] someone that’s overcome a lot. I’ve been through a lot and I genuinely see a fighter. I don’t see a championship winner, but I see a fighter and someone who is going to continue to fight no matter what is thrown in their way. I wouldn’t change the direction of my life for anything. I would never regret anything. I love the person that I am today," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Apart from making new music, Demi is also experimenting with some acting stints. The singer also has taken on the issue of body positivity and talks widely about it by posting unfiltered or unedited pictures. Talking about it at the conference, Demi said, "We hear the term ‘body positivity’ all the time. To be honest, I don’t always feel positive about my body. Sometimes I do not like what I see. I don’t sit there and dwell on it." Instead the singer expresses gratitude. "I am grateful for my strength and things I can do with my body. I am saying I’m healthy and I accept the way my body is today without changing anything," Demi said.
