D23 Expo 2019: Robert Downey Jr honoured as Disney Legend; Iron Man actor makes fun of his past
Robert Downey Jr. has been honoured as a Disney Legend at the prestigious Disney Legend Awards 2019. The Marvel actor gives an iconic speech at the mega event.
The D23 Expo 2019 is finally here and everyone is excited to celebrate a new squad of Disney Legends altogether. Right from Robert Downey Jr. to Jon Favreau, Hans Zimmer and many other talented individuals have been honoured for their contribution towards the long legacy carried forward by Disney. Robert Downey Jr. who is popularly known by his on - screen name Iron Man, has been honoured as a Disney Legend this year.
Robert, who is a Golden Globe winner and an Academy Award nominee, was quite elated on being honoured with the prestigious award. The Marvel actor gave an iconic speech on the D23 Expo stage and we love him 3000 for this! The handsome actor made a grand entry on the stage in the style of 'Iron Man' as the crowd cheered him up. Robert initially began his speech on a funny note as he mentioned about being arrested the first time he entered Disneyland for smoking marijuana on a gondola. He quotes, "I have been sitting on a shame for a while now."
The Iron Man actor bid farewell to the crowd by mentioning the names of some of his colleagues and friends from the industry including John Anthony, Kevin, Lewin Bob and many others. He then called filmmaker Jon Favreau an exceptional storyteller and mentioned about having a brotherly bond of faith with him. He ended his speech with the quote "I get to remain a fan of the first inclusive and evolving cinematic universe ever, so far and yeah, here's to the future!"
