The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is the official title of the film which will see paranormal investigators Ed (played by Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (played by Vera Farmiga) returning to the series.

The Devil Made Me Do It covers one of the most sensational cases from Ed and Lorraine's files. The film comes after Conjuring 2 but is the seventh film in the Conjuring Universe which comprises of Annabelle and The Nun series.

The film's synopsis was also mentioned in New Line's press release and it reads, "A chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in US history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense."
