Comic Con 2019: Richard Madden and Angelina Jolie CONFIRMED to star in The Eternals; Full Cast REVEALED
The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) was buzzing at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 as The Eternals' cast and the release date was unveiled. While Richard Madden will play Ikaris, Angelina will be seen as Thena. Read below for more details.
Avengers: Endgame marked the end of a 10-year era, which began with the OG 6 Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye). Spider-Man: Far From Home gave way to Phase 4, which would beckon the old players as well as the new superheroes. Amongst the primary MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) projects talked about, The Eternals was at the numero uno position. Finally, at Marvel's panel in San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Hall H was welcomed into the world of The Eternals. Kevin Feige revealed the cast as well as the release date.
The Eternals will star Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh and Don Lee. Angelina play Thena, Richard will be seen as Ikaris, Salma essays Ajax, Don will be seen as Gilgamesh, Lia plays Sprite, Kumail essays Kingo, Brian will be seen as Phastos and Lauren essays Macary. The entire cast of The Eternals made an appearance at Hall H, surprising the fans and it's definitely got us excited for Phase 4.

Meanwhile, talking about The Eternals, Kevin Feige stated, "There's this notion of all of these myths and legends that we know from ancient times, were they inspired by the Eternals? Were they Eternals? It's a very ... you know, it's an ancient aliens kind of sci-fi trope that we think would be fun to explore someday."
Directed by Chloé Zhao, The Eternals is slated to release on November 6, 2020.
