Colin Jost calls Scarlett Johansson's ex husband Ryan Reynolds his 'best friend' as the duo performed on SNL
Ryan Reynolds made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend. The Deadpool actor joined his ex-wife Scarlett Johansson's fiance Colin Jost for a fun segment.
It was a collaboration no one imagined, even in their wildest of dreams. A week after Harry Styles made his Saturday Night Live debut, SNL brought Colin Jost and Ryan Reynolds in one frame. If you are wondering what the big deal was about seeing Jost and Reynolds together, let us explain the connection. Jost is currently engaged to Avengers: Endgame star Scarlett Johansson. The Black Widow was once married to Reynolds. Just when you thought the common connection could impact the skit, Reynolds and Jost got along flawlessly.
It reached a point where Jost deemed Reynolds as his "best friend." It all happened during the show's popular Weekend Update skit, hosted by Jost and also featured Alex Moffat. The Deadpool star joined the segment by rolling in on his chair. Jost introduces him as the "Guy Who Knows The Owner." Reynolds rolled in wearing a striped shirt and orange vest and joined Scarlett's fiance for the segment.
"It’s tight to be here, CoJo — I was in the areola,” Reynolds joked while Jost tried hard to keep a straight face. "This Thanksgiving, if you want to move out the friend zone and into her end zone, pay her a compliment — like ‘nice cooking.’ Remember — class leads to a–!” he continued. Jost concluded the segment by announcing Moffat and Reynolds are his two "best friends."
Reynolds and Jost's joint appearance comes months after it was announced that Jost and Johansson are engaged. Scarlett was seen sporting an engagement ring at the D23 Expo earlier this summer. On the other hand, Reynolds welcomed his third born with wife Blake Lively.
