Post One Direction's split in 2015, Liam Payne and The X Factor UK judge Cheryl began a relationship. Irrespective of their 10-year age difference, the couple made it work for several years and also welcomed a baby boy in 2017, who they named Bear Payne. However, in 2018, Liam and Cheryl issued a joint statement revealing that the pair had parted ways. But, the two are still in amicable terms. It was proven when they greeted each other lovingly at the 2019 Global Awards.

In an interview with The Sun Online, Cheryl got candid about her current equation with her ex-boyfriend, Liam. The Girls Aloud singer stated that the pair share a healthy and good relationship which is something she is very happy about as things are great. "We love and care about each other a lot and we share a child. It's really important that we're able to have a very healthy good relationship," Cheryl revealed. Because of Bear, the two are going to be in each other's lives forever and hence, they have to figure it out and be grown-ups about it.

Recently, rumours were rife that Cheryl's latest single Let You was about Liam, but the singer strongly denied the speculations. Instead, Cheryl revealed that Let You has been about her "own experiences."
